Stools of 439 schoolchildren in McCreary County, Kentucky, USA, were examined for helminths. Of 97 positive for one or more species, 65 had hookworm. Ascaris eggs were present in 7-7% of the stools and Trichuris in 4.8%. Eggs of Enterobius vermicularis were found in 2 stools and Hymenolepis nana in one. Incidence was found to be lower in those whose homes had an indoor toilet and an indoor water supply.
