As a dissemination strategy in its outreach program, the ICDDR,B: Center for Health and Population Research presented the output of important studies with an introductory narrative on those studies. The first volume came out in 1991, covering important studies conducted over the period 1979-90. The second and most recent volume covers the studies conducted during 1991-95. Important research findings of the center over the latter period are described and discussed. On average, 86 papers were published each year during 1991-95. This paper focuses exclusively upon the center's research on child survival in relation to diarrheal diseases, acute respiratory infections, and nutrition. Findings with regard to vibrio cholerae, shigella, rotavirus, other diarrheal pathogens, acute respiratory infections, measles, tetanus, vitamin A, and zinc are reported.
