Histiocytoid carcinoma (h.c.) is an unusual variety of metastatic breast cancer that could be easily misdiagnosed, particularly in metastatic extramammary sites (1). The morphological features of h.c. and its relationship with in situ or invasive lobular carcinoma have been previously pointed out (1, 2, 3). A case of metacronous bilateral h.c. of the breast with left axillary lymphnode involvement is described. The clinical features, histologic and immunocytochemical findings are illustrated. The purpose of this study is to better define the characteristic of h.c. by suitable immunocytochemical evaluations.
