Demonstration is made of the pathogenicity of B. thuringiensis var. israelensis for larvae of Phlebotonnts papatasi and Lutzomyia longipalpis reared in the laboratory. This effect is mainly produced by the crystals (α-endotoxin) of the bacteria.
