Investigation on the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy of anoxic encephalopathy

A 36-year-old female inhaled H2S gas and had respiratory arrest. Following this, she had repeated convulsions. Her CT findings and clinical state suggested severe anoxic encephalopthy and continuous deep coma state. In our hospital, she had hyperbaric oxygen therapy and was given nifedipine, protirelin tartrate and cytochrome C. After repeating our therapy for two months, she gradually improved and became able to calculate. The changes in the region corresponded with the clinical symptoms observed with Positron Emission CT and it was confirmed tht rCBF and rCMRO2 were improved and our treatments were useful.
