Pharmacokinetic indices of digoxin and the clinical efficacy of its use were studied in patients with various forms of myocardial involvement complicated by circulatory insufficiency. Determination of the digoxin concentration in the blood plasma is a valuable method which makes it possible to monitor the digitalization process and prognose the clinical effect of digitalis therapy. A multiple regression equation was derived, which makes it possible to determine the optimal digoxin dosage on the basis of the patient's age and wt. The myocardial function intracardiac hemodynamics should be considered when administering digoxin.
