This is the first report of a working group investigating the nutritional condition of 2500 children in 40 institutions partly or totally subsidised. It deals with a boarding school with 100 children 6 to 13 years old. Of 90 children 73 were below normal in height or weight or in both; 25 underweight children were of normal height. Deficiencies found were of vitamin A in 69, protein in 46.6, Fe in 42.2, vitamin D and Ca in 27.7, vitamin B complex in 17.3, vitamin C in 13.3%.
