In vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF/ET) has to be considered as a clinical procedure in the treatment of infertile couples. Because of the multifactorial aspects influencing IVF, each single component, including culture media, has to be checked before using in clinical trials. The technique to culture 2 cells mouse embryos to blastocyst stage is described as a quality control method in clinical IVF. Attempts to modify culture media and optimize the technique lead the authors to discuss the results about 408 embryos cultured in vitro by 9 CB6-F1 mouses and by 18 CD1 mouses.
