The article gives details of a health education project which was implemented in a vocational training school in Germany. Comprising sport and movement activities, a back education programme and a workplace ergonomics component, the project, which was made an integral part of a business management course, was designed to increase body awareness, particularly the need for correct posture in all activities, and promote a sensible and healthy lifestyle within the working school environment in preparation for later behaviour within the workplace. Physical, psychological, social and environmental aspects were taken into account so that the project could be tailored to each individual's needs and circumstances. The positive results and nature of the project make it suitable for integration in physical education and other subject courses within general schools and colleges.
