Effect of perfluoroorganic emulsions on hematological indicators in laboratory animals

Rats, rabbits and dogs were injected with emulsions containing perfluorodecalin with perfluoropropilamine (7:3), in a dose of 3 g/kg bw . No changes were demonstrated in the erythroid parameters of peripheral blood, although certain disproportions were recorded in the cellular composition of the leukocytic formula (neutrophilia, lymphopenia, monocytosis). Ten injections of the emulsion with an interval of 1 day influenced insignificantly the above shifts. One-3 mo. after the discontinuance of the infusions (the total dose comprised 30 g perfluoroorganic emulsion/kg bw) all the blood parameters returned to normal.
