The present paper gives the pathophysiological interpretation of the correlation between the type of the disorder of speech and of other communication systems and the localization of the unambiguously verified ischemic cerebrovascular lesion with the purpose to confirm the validity of the new conception of the Academician Jaromir Hrbek on the localization of the brain speech mechanisms. A series of 66 patients was verified for ischemic lesions is several brain lobes making use of contrast examinations (carotic angiography and cerebral scintigraphy), section findings, and peroperative findings of neurosurgeons. Disorders of speech and of other communication systems were examined by means of special methods at the Department of Clinical Pathophysiology, Research Institute of Higher Nervous Activity [Czechoslovakia].
