Clinico-immunological and biochemical indicators in the evaluation of pathological process in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

One hundred and thirty-seven patients with different forms of rheumatoid arthritis were observed. The clinical features of the disease were evaluated. Standard laboratory tests were carried out, as was the analysis of elastolytic activity of the blood serum, the level of hydroxyproline, and circulating immune complex content in the blood serum. The dynamics of immunological and biochemical indices during the treatment of the patients was described. Nonsteroid antiinflammatory agents (corticosteroids, aurotherapy, cytostatics) were used for the treatment. Clinical remission in rheumatoid arthritis patients did not correlate with the dynamics of laboratory indices.
