An adequate correlation was revealed during the acutest period of myocardial infarction between the degree of heart failure, on the one hand, and a decrease in the ejection fraction and the average rate of circular myocardial contraction, on the other. Study of these parameters enables the severity of heart failure to be assessed and its preclinical stage determined in patients.
