The authors report eight cases (ten lesions) of malignant degeneration of chronic scalp radiodermatitis, ten to forty years after radiotherapy for tinea. All the lesions were basal cell epitheliomas, and were treated by wide exeresis followed by primary or deferred grafts, with excellent results. But the patients still risk a future malignant degeneration of their radiodermatitis. They conclude with the statement that the only way of preventing these lesions is to abstain from radiotherapy in the treatment of benign lesions (angiomas, warts, acne, tinea or cheloids).
