The effect of Trental was evaluated in 12 women and 42 men with chronic ischaemia of the lower extremities caused by atherosclerosis (54 cases) and Buerger's disease (3 cases). The best results of this treatment were obtained in patients in the IIa and IIb stage of ischaemia of the lower extremities (according to Fontaine's classification). Trental reduced blood flow disturbances in the capillary vessels improving tissue nutrition.
