A discussion on the existing practice on HIV screening during pregnancy and prenatal counselling for vertical transmission prevention in health care facilities in Nepal is presented. An account of how one Nepalese hospital dealt with an HIV-positive patient, from pregnancy to post-delivery, is also presented.
