The gastrointestinal syndrome caused by toxic mushrooms containing gastrointestinal irritants, indigestion following ingestion of edible mushrooms contaminated with microorganisms or chemicals (herbicides etc.), the muscarine syndrome, allergic reactions, and the Coprinus syndrome caused by ingestion of C. atramentarius or Boletus luridus in association with alcohol are described.
