At weaning 1600 male Charles-River rats were given one of 3 diets freely or in restricted but isocaloric amounts. The diets contained 10, 22 or 51% casein. At death incidence of pituitary tumours was most in those with the greatest food intake; heavier rats had more anterior pituitary tumours than lighter ones.
