The authors studied 297 cases of epilepsy treated with PB. Only 26% of these cases showed an incomplete control of the fits, and the percentage was similar in 77 patients with low PB levels. Besides, a constant dose/plasma level correlation was demonstrated. Tonic-clonic seizures, focal motor or sensory seizures and febrile convulsions showed the best therapeutic response.
