Association between tail injuries and docking in dogs

In the records of 12 129 dogs at the small animal practice teaching unit of Edinburgh University there were 47 cases of tail injuries-fractures, lacerations, contusions, dermatoses, self-trauma, neoplasia. Calculation of the odds ratio for the presence of tail injuries with an undocked tail did not reveal any significant association.
