Albino mice 8 to 10 weeks old were given a balanced commercial diet or an experimental diet of lard 28, casein 8 and sucrose 57% with vitamins and minerals. Two groups of 25 mice had the experimental and control diets, respectively, for 62 days and a similar group after 62 days on experimental diet had control diet for 2 weeks more; 10 mice had the experimental diet for 45 days and the control diet for 1 week.
