Trituration kinetics and its effect on the granulometric properties and the dissolution rate of a poorly soluble drug: sulfadiazine

The effect of grinding time on the granulometric properties of a poorly soluble drug such as sulfadiazine was studied. Size and grading were then determined i.e., particle size, bulk density, porosity and angle of repose, together with the dissolution rate in a nonreactive medium. The drug was ground for periods varying from 10 min to 12 h. The data were statistically compared in order to arrive at some conclusions.
