Effectiveness of amoxicillin in infectious endocarditis

In 30 patients with infectious endocarditis complicating acquired valvular heart disease Amoxil (amoxicillin) was given in daily doses of 1.5 g for 21 days. In 18 cases the diagnosis was confirmed with positive blood cultures. The results were evaluated determining changes in the general condition, physical examinations and laboratory investigations.
