Changes of platelet aggregation were investigated in whole blood and in platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in 137 patients with acute disturbances of brain circulation in the course of disease and in 56 normal subjects. Comparative analysis of the data indicate a different pattern of platelet function in whole blood and in PRP. Determination of platelet aggregation in whole blood was found to be a valuable test, allowing an objective assessment of the platelet potential to aggregate.
