Effect of hymenolepiasis and enterobiasis on the course of viral (infectious) hepatitis in children

The data are presented on parasitological and clinical examination of 400 children with viral (infectious) hepatitis with a mild and moderate course. Hymenolepiasis was detected in 7.75% enterobiasis in 27%, lambliasis in 23.25%, in lambliasis combined with enterobiasis 9.75%; 32.25% of the cases showed negative results (the control). The cases with moderate clinical course were found to prevail among the viral hepatitis patients with hymenolepiasis. A number of symptoms, which pointed to general intoxication manifested a more observed during preicteric period in the children with viral hepatitis combined with intestinal helminthiases, especially hymenolepiasis. Such patients showed a decreased erythrocytes, development of juvenile neutrophils and showed an increase in the percentage of basophil.
