Catalase activity was evaluated in the total testis and seminiferous tubules of rats with induced chronic ingestion of alcohol. The enzyme activity was significantly reduced in both the organ and the tissue. A modification in the steroidogenesis of the Leydig cells through of mitochondrial catalasis is indicated.
