Tumoral calcinosis (calcinosis circumscripta) in the horse

Examination of six affected horses revealed hard, subcutaneous, multiloculated nodules, usually near the tibiofibular joint, consisting of amorphous, calcified material, enclosed by a dense, fibrous capsule bearing many internal trabeculae. The condition did not differ from that in other species.
