In order to determine the share of particular fragments of peritoneum in the processes of peritoneal dialysis a series of experiments was carried out on rabbit to evaluate their permeability for substances mentioned below in order of increasing molecular gravity: Rb, lactates, Phenol Red, Evans Blue. Following peritoneal specimens were investigated: anterior parietal, posterior parietal, gastric peritoneum and mesenteric mesothelial monolayer of small intestine. The pieces of mesenteric mesothelial monolayer of small intestine and posterior parietal peritoneum showed the highest permeability. Transport rate of investigated substances through peritoneum depended upon their molecular gravity and electric charge.
