Influence of alignment of absolute stereo-fundus camera in progressive change on ocular fundus

An absolute stereo-fundus camera, i.e. Topcon TRC-SS stereo-fundus camera was used for the evaluation of the progressive changes of the optic disc in primary open-angle glaucoma, [POAG]. The influence of alignment variation of the photographic system on stereo-effect at the ocular fundus was theoretically studied. The stereo-effect at the absolute stereo-fundus camera was not influenced by the variation of the alignment of the camera theoretically. Even the obtained 3-dimensional slight change of optic disc can be evaluated as significant change. Two medically treated POAG cases, in which the absolute stereo-fundus photographs demonstrated a slight change during 1-5 yr with and without change of Goldmann isopters, were presented. The static, quantitative perimetry is replaced by this method for management of POAG in the near future.
