Symmetrical gyrification of the left and right hemisphere of the cat brain was observed in only 42% of the animals. A postcruciate sulcus occurred in at least 1 hemisphere in 70% and there was a bilateral incidence in 50% of the male cats and 36% of the females. The ratio of brain mass to body mass was 1/100 in female cats and 1/120 in male cats. No relationship was found between body mass and brain mass, or between brain mass and the degree of variability of the frontal sulci.
