A study in a rural area of Calicut District, Kerala, India, showed that health education facilitated community participation in measures taken against larvae of mosquito vectors of filariasis. The measures involved weekly spray application of a combination of temephos and fenthion, and efficacy was determined from monthly mosquito collections.
