An improved method for the isolation of retinol-binding protein (RBP) from goat serum is reported. The method involves the use of DEAE-cellulose, CM-Sephadex and Sephadex G-100 column chromatography. The isolated RBP has a MW 20,420 and gave A280/A330 nm ratio of 1.01. The RBP was immunologically pure. The method is simple, less time consuming and reproducible.
