Long acting fenspiride was used in 20 patients with chronic bronchopneumopathy complicated or not by lung emphysema and atherosclerotic myocardiopathy. The 20 day treatment produced a statistically significant reduction of the parameters evalauted (physical signs, quali-quantitative modifications of bronchial secretion and functional signs: cough and dyspnea). The clinical and biological similar control group of patients, treated with a product containing proteolytic enzymes, long acting fenspiride showed a better action on some parameters which sometimes was statistically significant.
