A case of chromomycosis due to Exophiala jeanselmei is reported in a 45-yr-old diabetic wife of a carpenter. Examination of the cyst following surgical excision revealed that it contained a wooden splinter. It is suggested that the fungus entered the skin on the wooden splinter.
