Laboratory tests were carried out in India to evaluate the effectiveness of phosalone (Zolone) for the control of larvae and adults of Culex quinquefasciatus Say, Anopheles culicifacies Giles, A. stephensi List. and Aedes aegypti (L.). The results indicated that the usefulness of phosalone in mosquito control was limited. However, it was recommended for use against adults of Anopheles culicifacies when this species has developed resistance to all other available insecticides.
