Ultrasonography in the diagnosis of acute cholecystitis

Data of ultrasonic scanning of 117 patients with acute cholecystitis are analyzed. The gallbladder was visualized in 95,7% of examinations. Operations were performed on 38 patients. Gallstones were revealed by echosonography in 94,7% of cases. Echosonography should be widely used in diagnosis of acute cholecystitis and in analysing the indications for surgical treatment.
