Phaneropsolus bonnei is recorded for the first time in man in Thailand. Specimens recovered post mortem are described. Eggs may be distinguished from those of Opisthorchis viverrini because when stained with iodine they appear tan or brownish, not wine red, and the contents do not appear fully developed but have a vacuolated appearance. Examination of faecal specimens has indicated that P. bonnei is widespread in man in north-eastern Thailand.
