Pancreas surgery in the district hospital

The surgeon in a district hospital is often faced with diseases of the pancreas. The own results, the advantages and disadvantages of different surgical procedures are dealt with. In case of cancer of the pancreatic head, duodenocephalopancreatectomy should be taken into consideration, if not palliative procedures have to take place. Elective cases of chronic pancreatitis should be transferred to specialized clinics.
