When 10 healthy men and women 22 to 40 years old were given a meal containing 300 g boiled beef creatinine clearance increased by 13 to 79, average 38%. If glomerular filtration is to be measured by creatinine clearance, patients should be instructed to avoid boiled meat for at least 24 h before and also during the period of collection of urine.
