Coccidioidal meningitis in rural Pennsylvania

A case is reported in a previously healthy 70-yr-old man who acquired disseminated Coccidioides immitis infection and meningitis during a visit to Ariz. Serum and cerebrospinal fluid complement fixation titres for C. immitis were positive at 1:16 and 1:32, respectively. The patient was treated wtih intravenous and intrathecal amphotericin B.
