Collagen resorption by fibroblasts in the endometrium of rats after parturition

An ultrastructural study of collagen resorption in the postpartum rat endometrium revealed several intracytoplasmic vesicles inside fibroblasts containing collagenous fibrils in various stages of degradation. A collagenolytic action of the fibroblast itself is implied which, besides being the builder of the molecule, would also be responsible for its resorption.
