Hereditary and the role of consanguineous marriages in the development and course of bronchial asthma

Hereditary predisposition to bronchial asthma with regards to the presence in the families of a closely related marriage was examined. Three groups of patients and relatives were studied. In the patients with hereditary aggravation and in the progeny of closely related marriages, the disease occurs in the earlier periods of life, then acquires the severe course leading to irreversible changes. A great percentage of persons with subclinical disease manifestations were detected among these patients' relatives.
