17 newly synthetized pyridazines were tested for activity on the cardiovascular system. Two of them caused a dose dependent fall in blood when applied intravenously. Intravascular administration of one of these two compounds, the hypotensively active hydrazinopyridazine, to the "perfused hind extremities of the rat" gave rise to an increase in flow. All the 17 compounds under investigation were inactive on the isolated ileum preparation. From these results it is concluded that the hypotensive effect of the active pyridazines is attributable to a prominent action on the peripheral vascular system. As all these compounds are regarded as relatively weak, closer examination of their mechanism of action is not planned.
