Five serological strains of tobacco ringspot virus isolated from naturally-infected tobacco in North Carolina, USA, and a strain isolated from watermelon in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, were transmitted from cucumber to cucumber by mass-screened and handpicked Xiphinema americanum from North Carolina.
