Indirect intraocular tonometry was performed on six horses, using an electronic tonometer, with a topical anaesthetic and a tranquillizer. Mean indirect intraocular pressure for these horses was 24.5 mm Hg. Direct and indirect intraocular pressure values were also simultaneously recorded on six horses under general anaesthesia and on three freshly enucleated eyes.
