The authors constructed a transistorized stimulator which delivered a current of 50, 100 or 150 Hz to electrodes attached to the cervix and the skin of the lumbosacral region, at 3-10 mA for 10-12 minutes once daily for three successive days (or 30-60 minutes for retained placenta). Treatment did not hasten the expulsion of a retained placenta. It increased the FSH and LH content of blood, and shortened the period between calving and conception.
