Presumed aspergillosis associated with orbital floor prosthesis

A case of Aspergillus infection of the maxillary sinus is reported in a 45-yr-old diabetic woman, who had recived a prosthetic implant to repair a blow-out fracture of the orbital floor 10 yr previously. Symptoms resolved following a Caldwell-Luc procedure, creation of a nasoantral window for drainage, removal of the implant and intravenous administration of amphotericin B (total dose 2 g).
