Students, 171 men and 223 women at New Mexico State University completed a questionnaire in 1966. There was a significant relation between mothers preparing breakfast at home and the students liking to eat breakfast. The numbers of mothers preparing breakfast was greatest in the rural areas. Those who liked to eat breakfast also ate lunch regularly. No significant relation was found between eating breakfast and having studied nutrition, or having eaten in a school lunch-room.
