The mutagenic potential of 26 organophosphinate compounds was investigated using the Ames Salmonella/mammalian microsome mutagenicity assay. Diphenyl, triphenyl, p-nitrophenyl, halogenated and several other derivatives were examined. There was no evidence of mutagenicity.
