An evaluation of lysine acetylsalicylate as an analgesic in maxillofacial surgery

Lysine acetylsalicylate was administered i.v. during anesthesia to 50 patients undergoing maxillofacial surgery. The degree of postoperative pain and requirements for postoperative analgesia were compared with findings in 50 control patients. The group receiving lysine acetylsalicylate experienced significantly less postoperative pain and required less postoperative analgesia than those not receiving it.
